Michael A. Blum
Mike Blum enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1960. He served our Country during the years of the “cold war” and the tense times of the Cuban Missile Crisis, serving aboard ship in the naval blockade to prevent missiles from Russia being located in Cuba. He served off the coast of Vietnam in the early days of the war, extracting American civilian wives and children from Saigon and bringing them aboard ship for transport back to the U. S. He was also involved in operations in several countries in the Far East in the early 60’s including Okinawa, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines. He received an Honorable Discharge in June 1965 having earned several military awards. After retiring as a Retail Executive in 2004, he spent 11 years as the National Executive Director of the largest Marine Corps Veterans association in the country. Currently he serves our area as a Realtor, having been licensed in 1993. He loves working at Corner House Realty in Catonsville, providing a high level of service to buyers and sellers alike. Mike and his family have been residents of Columbia, Maryland for 53 years. In 2016, the Howard County Executive appointed Mike to the Howard County Commission for Veterans and Military Families.
